HOW IT'S DONE
The example below s of a 4-piece CD Plaque in a Metal
Frame
with a
Double Mat.
The "Bottom Mat" acts as a
secondary accent color, revealing between 1/8" to 1/2"
of itself beneath the "Top
Mat". Most often, this "Bottom Mat" color is in contrast of
or
compliment to the top mat, but on occasion, the Top and Bottom
mats are alike.
This example features 4
artpieces (CD, Traycard, Front & Back of the CD Insert),
all of
which are
float-mounted on an
acid & lignin-free colored
mountboard. The mats then, are
shimmed to elevate the glass from the art-pieces, creating a
"shadowbox" type display.
